SONS OF LIGHT

There is something about the way the people of God do things. It's just a higher way of living.
In 1 JOHN 1 we read that God is Light and wherever God is, darkness bows. Darkness doesn't leave after ten minutes of light or three sessions of light. Darkness leaves immediately when light comes on the scene !

We as children of the Light was called out of darkness into His marvelous Light by being purchased by the blood of Christ. We now belong to another meaning, we must now set forth the deeds of Him Whom we belong to ! We must show forth the perfections of Him that is perfect.
Matthew 5:48 "Be perfect as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" How can we be that...because we were called OUT OF DARKNESS into His marvelous LIGHT !

EPHESIANS 5:8 says you are not darkness anymore but Light. It may grow dark in he world but you don't fear because you are light ! It does not say you have light but are Light !
If you had light somebody could come and take it but if you are light......nobody can take that from you !
We have now got to walk out light and wherever we go the darkness gets exposed ! We don't hide because we saw darkness, NO ! Darkness flees because it saw us !

1 THESSALONIANS 5:5 says that not only are we sons of LIGHT but also sons of LIFE. In Him was LIFE and the LIFE was the LIGHT of men. Now we are sons of the LIGHT meaning we must then be sons of LIFE ! The only way the Light in you is recognized is by what you do with it in darkness !

Walk as sons of Light and Life as HE is......so are we IN THIS WORLD !
Be His ambassador !

THERE IS A LIFTING UP !
Low things happen to High people. High people don’t aim for low things but low things have a manner of just happening ! God was so proud of Job that He called Him the most righteous person but one morning Job woke up like every other and had no clue as to what the day would hold !
In just a few moments he lost all his oxen and donkeys; Lightning killed all the sheep; Lost all his Camels; House fell inn on all his sons and daughters and killed them but amid all these calamities there is a lifting up ! There is life after a bringing low and God is about to lift you up !
God didn't leave him in that state !
You weren't born to stay down but to get up. You weren't born to die in difficulty but rule in victory !
There is a lifting up this day !

Psalm 40 says we were low once but He drew us up out of the pit and out of the clay and slime.
We are now set upon a rock with steady steps and established goings.
There is a lifting up !

Are you storm driven or are you steering ?

The disciples on the boat find themselves suddenly in a storm. Their boat is being tossed around, driven by the wind and filling up with water. The amazing thing is that Jesus was asleep onboard. Truth be told, storms come suddenly. In James 3 we are again reminded to

God Working Behind The Scene

In Luke 5 Jesus wanted to preach to the crowd from Simon Peter's boat. Simon had no idea that he was about to catch the greatest break in his life. If you consider the fact that a boat was not designed to be used as platform but God had a different thing planned. Your business can be your platform. Next moment God said to Simon Peter cast your nets out again. The reply was that they caught NOTHING all night (the time for fishing). Now it's daytime and we must go for a catch? When Simon Peter said yes to Jesus preaching from his boat, he never had a clue as to what that would produce that day !
Will you do it again ?

We get so frustrated with our circumstance that we plan to give up but the call today is, will you do it again ? We have no idea what God can produce in a moment. God had this catch planned before He ever entered Simon Peter's boat. God was working behind the scene from the beginning, even in your life. Something miraculous is about to be manifested in your life which God has planned before eternity began. Happy hunting !

Every Good, Perfect; Free, Large and Full gift comes from above. If we can just realise that we are a gift to the Body of Christ. Now God so loved the world that He sent His best gift and in this gift was Life and Light. He came into the world but the world did not recognize Him. The tragedy of our day is that the church lost the ability to recognize the gift of God in people.

Jesus speaks to a woman at a well and says "If you only knew the gift that is before you"
We know nothing about drawing from the gift of God in people! The church has an inability to draw out living water from the source because we are stuck at the well. We are unable to go beyond methodology and tap into revelation because we keep looking outward instead of inward ! The greatest confrontation of the Church lies in it's past and present and they can't seem to define their future. For the woman at the well, her past was too prominent because of her five mistakes and yet she is presently busy making another one !

If you loose your appreciation for the gift, the gift loses it's ability to touch you !
It was John the Baptist that said "behold the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world" and they took offence instead of discerning the gift. This was the Son of God "Emmanuel" and could do no miracles in His home town because they could not discern the gift!

It is such a tragedy to shower the Church with gift heaped upon gift if the church has never been taught to Discern the gift; Respect the gift; Honor the gift; Appreciate the gift.

If this doesn't happen at home, it won't happen in Church !
You are a gift to the body of Christ, discern the gift in those around you.

We are currently busy with an awesome series on Honor. We must all show it as much as we need it ! Honor must be shown as much as received. I believe the element of honor is missing from the top of our nation to the man on the street. We have no regard for any institution, person or even entity, It's time that God restores Honor among His people for one another. One of the greatest ways to show Honor is to discern the gift in those among us. Discern the gift in your children and family members. Discern the gift in your neighbour and those around you. The moment you respect and discern their gift, Honor will flow automatically. We have preached on Honor for more than two months already.
