The sound of Newness and Forward rings fresh in my ear!
Rain is a forerunner of new growth. As the rain fall in the natural and causes the hidden seed that was embedded to sprout, likewise when the rain of the Spirit falls, it will cause that which was hidden for so long to sprout and prove that the soil is not barren!
We consider a piece of ground and glance over it with a careless eye, observing nothing. The next moment we take a breath and call it barren because we see nothing!In the life of those around you, take great care when you look over the fields of their lives. Even though you may glance at the nothingness, there may be seed deeply embedded that was just waiting for the rain. Rain has the power to reveal what was hidden for many dry seasons.
In 2 KINGS 19:29-30 Hezekiah speaks of a sign. He breaks up the produce after rain in a few categories:
a)There is fruit in our lives that grows of itself, needs no assistance;
b)There is fruit that comes voluntarily and needs no coaxing or begging;
c)There is fruit that needs effort put in and contribution on your part.
Irrespective what is required to have the fruit manifest in our lives, we need the key ingredient which is RAIN!
In this awesome portion of scripture the key of fruit is explained!
First the root goes downward BEFORE the fruit goes upward!
At times we can’t understand the downward, but I want you to know that there is an upward afterward!
You were not born be caught in the downward forever but God has designed the upward as well.
The greatest enemy of any marriage or relationship is that we grow use to one another.We lose touch with each other because we got so use to being in each other’s presence. I believe there is a sound of NEWNESS in the atmosphere.
There is a challenge out from the heavens that resounds NEWNESS ! This morning while we were praying, I caught on to something that God had been busy with me for quite some time ! I think I have missed this all along but finally my brethren I think I got it.
“You will always move in the opposite direction of what you were called into, before you move in line with what you’re supposed to be!”
Allow me to explain, Before any building is built up, it’s built down !
We have this passion to erect an awesome building or skyscraper with 20 or 30 levels. That building NEVER – NEVER goes up unless it first went down !

We are speaking and praying and confessing our 10 000 seater into being and suddenly we battle to get 50 people together !!!! Take courage you’re on your way up ! You may be declaring and confessing the blessing and abundance of God over your life and the next moment all hell broke loose and poverty moved in !!!!!! Take good courage you’re on your way up !
We are stepping into NEWNESS and the we are on the way up !
Break the mold and shake yourself loose from your bondage and captivity….and declare….”I’m on my way up !”
We are in a period of Fasting as a congregation and we are being challenged by God to forget the old way of doing things. Your past shall be forgotten and irrelevant. A new thing, such a work as was never yet done in the world must come forth from you.
In LEVITICUS 26 the Word of God declares to make room for the new !
Clear out the old store of things kept too long. Your stock of old corn would be still unexhausted and large when the next harvest will bring a new supply. Make way for the new corn, which also is so plentiful, that of itself it will fill up your barns.
It was also Paul of old that aimed to do this one thing, forgetting what lies behind and reaching to that which lies ahead. We have to be able to turn our back on yesterday and go FORWARD !
Let it go and go FORWARD !
Get up from your captive place and go FORWARD !
It may be that you are caught up with such bad memories or even concepts about
yesterday that’s not God like. This is exactly where the children of Israel found themselves when they faced the Red sea before them and the Egyptian army behind them. In EXODUS 14 there was nothing behind them but:
a) Slavery;
b) 400 years of bad memories;
c) An army wanting to kill them !
It also states in the very same chapter that you will never see them again !!!!!
There is no turning back ! We have to continue moving FORWARD !
This is also the place where Moses cried out to God and the Lord said, FORWARD !!!!!!
We will never see lack again !
We will never see defeat again !
We will never see famine again !
You will never see me like you see me now !
We can’t remain the same……we were born for greater things !
Make the decision with your spouse and family and choose to go FORWARD !
My brother in law has this cute little girl that follows her mother everywhere. Her deepest cry is “pick me up!”
As her mother picks her up, the phone rings, the gate alarm goes off, the kettle boils and the gardener wants to know whether he could leave earlier today. All of these tasks (multi tasking of a housewife) is done with this “pick me up” in her arms. At the end of the day when exhaustion settles in and it all becomes too much, we dread the possibility of another day like this !
We are just like that in many ways.
We pick up so many things along the way that wear us down and instead of dealing with what we have picked up, we try to handle everything else in our lives to the best of our ability with our hands filled with “pick me up things”
LUKE 19:30-34 Jesus says to the disciples, “As you go, you will find a donkey's
colt tied.” Too many times we live our lives tied down like this.
There was nothing wrong with this beast of burden apart from the fact that it was
tied down ! The trap of today’s society is that we are so tied up that what God
actually wants to use us for becomes too much !
Allow me to illustrate:
There was once a man with an imaginary friend. It was a little puppy.
At first he would groom this imaginary friend and after a while he thought it a good idea to start feeding this friend. After a while he got more and more involved with this friend and had to bathe it and so on !
This friend became unbearable and demanded his time more and more.
He would barely be on the phone or this friend would scream out "pick me up"
He would scarcely be in the car or this friend would scream "pick me up"
This imaginary friend started demanding more and more of his time to the point that he had to walk, talk and eat with this thing in his arms all the time ! Then this thing started demanding time even when he tried to sleep. It would scream out "pick me up" the moment he fell asleep. Totally consuming him, his time and his relationships. It constantly demanded "pick me up"
It finally drove him nuts.
He ended up in an institution where all he could do and did was, held this imaginary thing which by now was six times his actual size ! Every moment he had for himself was consumed by this constant demand of "pick me up!"
It seemed that the people in the nut house understood because it was madness !
We pick up stuff like this all the time.
We carry it a bit in the beginning and have the power to put it down. It suddenly demands from me "pick me up." It starts consuming our friendships, rest and every activity, crying out "pick me up!" Then it starts devouring my sleep screaming out "pick me up!" It's totally overgrown, a beast !
I can't put it down anymore !
You can break the cycle and put it down !
In HEBREWS 12 it instructs us to strip off and throw aside every encumbrance, meaning get rid of unnecessary weight and that sin which so cleverly clings to us. It tells us that we have the power to put it down !
Let it go ! We must come to the place where we cast the whole of our care upon Him. Come to the place where we cast all of our anxieties, all our worries, all our concerns, once and for all on Him.
He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully (1 Peter 5:7).
